| I.General
Principle Obey the laws of People's Republic of China. And show respect to
customs of Chinese people. Obey the regulations of Ningbo University and study
hard. Promote the friendship and understanding between peoples from all over the
world; show respect to customs of different countries and further educational,
cultural and economic exchange and cooperation between all countries.
II.
Enrollment, Fees payment and Departure/Exit 1.Registration a.Check your
name in with Application Form of Visa to China for International Students and
Notice of Admission to NBU on hand. b.Before registration, make sure that
the following items are ready: >Health re-examination certificate from Ningbo
Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau. >Tuition and Accommodation fee
payment >Cash deposit for article of daily use >Enrollment Registration
Form of NBU >8 copies of Photos: size of 2 inches, front face, with no hat
on. >From the second semester on, only student's card is needed for registration.
Note that if you have not made registration within two weeks after the registration
date, you will be considered the one who has already quitted the school at your
own will. c.Go through the formalities relevant to the accommodation.
d.Some ID card will be given after your registration. If any of the cards is lost,
you should apply for another one and pay the necessary service fee RMB50.But there
is only one such a chance. e.After enrollment, turn in your visa, health certificate
and the necessary service fee to the International Students Office in the stipulated
time. The International Students Office will provide service on going through
the relevant formalities for the students' staying in China. Otherwise, you need
to go to the Public Security Bureau and make everything settled down by yourself.
f.Take the relevant guidebooks, such as Law of Exit and Entry Management of
Foreigners in People's Republic of China ,issued by Ningbo Public Security Bureau.
g.International Students should hold ordinary passport. Students who hold
diplomatic, public or special passports are required to ask their diplomatic mission
in China to present a note and go to the Public Security Bureau to go through
the formalities. In the period of your study, you are not entitled to enjoy the
pertinent privilege and treatment. 2.Fees payment a.You are required to
pay application fee when turning in the application form for the first time. Tuition
is supposed to be paid at the beginning of each semester/ year. Those who fail
to pay tuition fee in stipulated time are not allowed to register. In case of
need, you should obtain the permission fro the International Students office for
a delay of the tuition fee payment for a max of 1 month from the beginning of
the semester, and 5% interest will be added in this case. b.After the semester
begins, 75% of the tuition can be returned to the students who quits the study
within 2 weeks and 50% of the tuition can be returned to the students who quits
the study within 3 weeks. However, no tuition will be returned if the student
quits after 3 weeks' study. In no case will application fee be returned. c.The
accommodation fee should be paid at the beginning of each semester. Other wise
you have to bear the relevant financial loss. The fee of accommodation of the
month when you leave the university depends on the days you have stayed. Installment
payment will be considered as an exceptional case. 3. Departure/Exit a.While
having accomplished the study in NBU and being ready for leaving from school for
his/her starting point, make sure that following items are ready: >All the
ID cards that need to be handed back; >The articles lent from the school including
books; >Advise the International Students Office and the University's Dormitory
Administration Section of the date departure from the school. A confirmation of
all the departure formalities being settled down is needed for the departure.
The cash deposit for the articles of daily use will be returned only after the
key to the dormitory is handed back. b.According to the regulations of the
university, If you have accomplished or quitted the study, you should leave China
for your starting point in a week after the announcement date. The exception case
in which an extension is necessary, please contact with the International Affairs
Administration Division.
III. Study and Assessment 1.Placement & Assessment
a.Treat seriously the prescribed study and assessment. b.After the enrollment,
you will be placed into different classes according to your performance in the
placement test. c.You can be shifted to a more suitable class upon your application
and approval from your teacher and the ISO d.Those who do not pass the final
exam for a particular course or who miss it, can be given a supplemental exam.
For those who pass the supplemental exam, in the former case, the score will be
just "Pass", while in the later case, the score for this course will be the real
score he/her gains in the exam. e.The final scores you get are determined
by your performance in both the final exam and the classes. f.The student
who fails in two exams can not go on to the next-stage study. 2.Rules of attendance
a.If the period of leave is no more than one day, you should be approved by
the teacher of the lesson, and then submitted to the International Students Office
for file; if the period exceeds one day, you should be approved by the International
Students Office, and the students concerned should go through the relevant formalities.
b.The accumulative total periods of your absence from a particular course,
including all kinds of absence with or without leave, should not exceed one third
of the total periods of this course. Otherwise, you can not take part in the final
exam of that course. 3.Graduation a.The students who has successfully
accomplished all the prescribed courses will be granted a certificate of this
program. b.The student who quit the study will be given a proof of study according
to the situation.
IV. Rules of Living 1.Accommodation a.While
registering, you should submit valid ID credentials as well as other proofs, and
then fill out the accommodation registration form, check the list of articles
distributed for daily use, pay RMB1,000 as the deposit money which will be returned
back to you while leaving the university. Accommodation will be available only
if the above-mentioned formalities have been settled down. b.The number and
names of students sharing a dormitory should be strictly in accordance with the
registered number and names. No guest should stay overnight, including the schoolmates.
And the bed is not transferable, either. c.With the consideration of security,
do not lend your key to your dormitory to others or borrow keys from others; and
when you are out, please shut the door as well as the windows properly. d.Do
not bring into the building animals and other unclean or dangerous articles, such
as articles easy to burn or explode, or poisonous or radioactive materials. Do
not burn anything or set off fireworks in the building. e.It is strictly prohibited
to take such illegal activities as fighting, gambling, taking drugs, calling prostitute
in the building, or to put up dirty posters, to distribute dirty books, pictures
or photos, or to play dirty records, video tapes or Video CD. f.Do not have
excessive drinking, making noise, or play records or CDs with too high sound.
g.To ensure a tidy, comfortable living condition, please do not spit improperly
or litter, or throw anything out of the window. h.To ensure security and avoid
conflagration, please put out any possible sources of fire(e.g. cigarette stub),and
cut off all the power resources when you leave your room. i.It is strictly
prohibited to use unauthorized electric heating devices or lay electric wires
or fix other electric appliances in the dormitory. If there is any violation,
the person(s) concerned will be fined upon the situation. j.Take care of the
articles distributed for daily use and public facilities. Compensation must be
treated according to the corresponding regulation(s). 2.Regulations for visitor
reception a.The visitors should furnish his/her valid ID card, and fill out
a visiting registration form. The ID card is temporarily kept by the person on
duty, and will be returned at departure. b.The visitors should leave before
10:30PM and not stay overnight. c.If there is any violation, the person(s)
concerned will be fined accordingly.
V.Regulations on Exit, Entry, Residence,
Travel of International Students a.International Students must abide by "Law
of Exit and Entry Management of Foreigners in People's Republic of China", go
through the relevant formalities of exit, entry, residence, travel, etc., and
turn in the corresponding fees. The organization processing these affairs if the
Administration Division of Exit and Entry of Foreigners, Ningbo Public Security
Bureau(Address: Ningbo Mansion, Tel: 87062508£ß87062509). b.Be cautious about
the expiry date of your visa. If the visa expires before accomplishing the study,
please notify the embassy of your own country in advance and go through the necessary
formalities to extend your visa. Otherwise, you will be fined. c.To extend
or adjust your residence certificate, you need to apply to the public security
bureau a week ahead for an extension with proof from the school authorities. Otherwise,
you will get fined by the public security bureau. d.If you return your country
for illness or other incidents, or travel to other countries or districts like
Hong Kong, Macao, etc, you must apply to the public security bureau for visa with
a proof from the International Students Office. e.Take good care of the passport,
visa, etc, when on a trip. If the passport is lost, notify the public security
bureau immediately, and then apply to the embassy or consulate of your own country
for a new passport with the proof from the public security bureau. |
